Voters in one part of Merseyside will help shape new proposals for how their area is represented, according to the Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE), as it launches a comprehensive review of the electoral map.

The LGBCE are independent of central and local government and political parties. It is directly accountable to Parliament through a committee of MPs chaired by the Speaker of the House of Commons.

It is now undertaking a public consultation for the residents of Knowsley . People are being asked about plans for new council wards in the borough, to help make sure that they reflect the size of local communities .
