Councilmember Julie Menin is set to become the next speaker of the City Council.

She says she has secured votes from 36 members of the council , surpassing the necessary 26 votes.

Menin joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Wednesday to talk about how she secured enough support and her relationship with Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani.

“It really came from the members.
