The owner of an XL Bully that attacked a mother in front of her children and ripped her hijab off has avoided jail. The reckless dog has been euthanised following the horrific attack on August 31, 2024.
Mold Crown Court heard how Yasmin Begum was standing on Wrexham High Street with her two children at around 2.36pm when she spotted Tomasz Wegner, 45, walking towards her with his dog. Despite asking Wegner to move away because she was "scared", he followed her and shouted at her "aggressively" whilst she hid in a doorway. The XL Bully then "grabbed and dragged" her before "removing her hijab". The animal also tried to bite her forehead but fortunately did not pierce her skin.
