A judge has ruled a 15-year-old boy who stabbed another teenager 11 times cannot be named by the ECHO. The victim's girlfriend, aged only 14, was also knifed in the chest during the incident on Whitefield Drive in Kirkby .

The altercation, on the evening of April 30 this year, was said to have come in retaliation for an earlier confrontation, which led to one of the defendant's friends suffering a head injury after being struck with a metal pole. The defendant was found guilty of attempted murder following a trial and returned to Liverpool Crown Court to be sentenced yesterday afternoon.
