DES MOINES, Iowa ( KCCI ) - Des Moines police are searching for a man who was injured after a gun he stored in his oven fired multiple rounds, KCCI reports.

36-year-old Dameian Buckner is wanted on active warrants for illegal firearm possession and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

Officers responded to reports of gunfire at Buckner’s home. Police believe Buckner was in possession of two handguns and marijuana intended for distribution.

Police say Buckner was injured when he turned on his oven, causing the stored handgun to fire multiple rounds as it was heating up.

Anyone with information about Buckner’s whereabouts should call 911 or submit a tip through the DMPD mobile app.
