SAN ANTONIO — In addition to its night markets, tree lighting party and other Christmas-season programming, another attraction is coming to the Pearl for the first time this week.

The popular downtown-area district said in a press release that a "dazzling outdoor ice-skating rink" will debut there the Friday after Thanksgiving, where it will welcome visitors looking to glide on the ice through the start of the new year.

The rink will be set up next to Stable Hall, in a Pearl atmosphere adorned by "twinkling lights, holiday music and joyful memories for all ages." Friday is also when the district will have its own tree lighting celebration from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., with the switch set to be flipped on around 5:45 p.m.
