Glass shards were sent flying after a house exploded in Calumet City Wednesday night, though authorities say no injuries were reported.

Around 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, authorities responded to a home explosion in Calumet City near 115th and Price Avenue, city officials said.

The explosion was possibly related to a gas leak, though the investigation remains ongoing, authorities said.

Windows on the house were blown out in the explosion and shattered glass littered the pavement nearby, as seen on video from the scene. The walls of the building were also bulging after the explosion.

Crime scene tape wrapped around the building during the investigation and Nicor Gas officials were seen on site.

No one was injured but a person working on the house was there when the explosion occurred.
