HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Anthony Mattison, 36, of Osceola, was sentenced Wednesday at Adams County District Court to a minimum of 150 years in prison for crimes he committed in 2022.
Mattison was facing sentencing for a shootout with Hastings police and the murder of 25-year-old Jasmine Garnett. Garnett’s remains were later found in a field near Harvard. The tragedy involving Garnett and Mattison was spread out over three years.
Mattison stood in Adams County District Court Wednesday to hear his sentence. During the hearing, he chose not to speak. Mattison was first arrested Sept. 27, 2022, when he opened fire on Hastings police officers.
