The band was invited to perform at the Pearl Harbor Memorial in December 2026 with Eastern Illinois University's marching band as a part of the Mega Marching Band.
Band Director Jennifer Morrow has been teaching for 13 years, and she said being able to provide an opportunity like this has always been a dream of hers. Now, she's making that dream a reality.
"I've never even been to Hawaii. Most of these kids haven't been to Hawaii. Some of the kids haven't left the state. So it's just a big deal to get on an airplane for the first time, see the beach for the first time," Morrow said.
