TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - Families across the United States will gather with loved ones to celebrate Thanksgiving, but some celebrations will be incomplete following the Trump Administration’s crackdown on immigration.
One Tucson family is choosing to self-deport to Colombia, making this their last Thanksgiving in the U.S.
The mother told 13 News reporter Raya Torres that it’s the best decision for their family.
Yarlidis Goez-Santos said she is currently working with ICE agents to iron out the details of her family’s self-deportation, which will take place the week after Thanksgiving.
Every family member is allowed to bring one small luggage weighing 40 pounds.
