A top executive at Campbell’s was fired Wednesday as the world’s largest soup maker conducted an internal investigation into a scandal that broke last week.

The decision regarding the termination of Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer Martin Bally was made after the company said it had reviewed audio recordings released to media outlets by former employee Robert Garza on Saturday, on which Bally allegedly made controversial statements. Just two days before that, Garza had filed a whistleblower lawsuit alleging wrongful termination in Michigan on Thursday.

“We believe the voice on the recording is in fact Martin Bally,” Campbell’s wrote in an updated statement on the matter.
