A Sudbury businessman accused of sexually assaulting a schoolgirl in his Indian restaurant allegedly told her and a friend that he would give them a free meal if they let him touch them, a court has heard.

Giving evidence at Ipswich Crown Court (Tuesday) the alleged victim’s friend claimed Abdul Hoque had then tried to grope her breast and touch her leg.

“I moved away and said no,” said the witness.

She said she couldn’t remember if Hoque had touched her friend on that occasion.

However, when they were discussing the incident later she said the alleged victim told her that Hoque had "done it to her too".

Hoque, now 57, of First Avenue, Sudbury, has pleaded not guilty to causing a child to engage in sexual activity and four offences of sexual activity with a child.
