GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - People with the Ronald McDonald House of North Central Florida say they’re doing their part to make Thanksgiving feel normal for families going through a difficult time.

This year, a family who used to stay at the house is giving back by giving $50 gift cards, and that is in addition to the meals from the house.

All of the families have children getting care at UF Health Shands.

“We are here to support families in some of the hardest times they’re going through, and we’re happy to do that, that’s why we’re here, that’s why the Ronald McDonald House exists” John Thomas, Chief Philanthropy Officer for Ronald McDonald House of North Central Florida, said.
