GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Gainesville police say a man with active warrants tried to use another man’s name. Now he’s in the Alachua County Jail.
Police say 60-year-old Philip Roberts gave a dead man’s name to officers who stopped him on Northeast 15th Street on Tuesday.
Roberts had two active warrants in Alachua and Levy counties for violating probation by possessing a controlled substance.
He’s being held without bond.
