HIGH SPRINGS, Fla. (WCJB) - People all around North Central Florida have been giving their time and resources to make sure families can have full dinner plates for Thanksgiving.
Organizers with the High Springs Mobile Food Bank were ready on Wednesday with a drive-through giveaway.
Cars were lined up and trunks were open, waiting to be filled with fresh produce, mac and cheese and other holiday feast essentials
Anna James, the director of the High Springs Mobile Foodbank, says they were prepared to help hundreds of families.
“In today’s event, it’s about 18,000 pounds of food. We traditionally get at least 20,000, right in that range. It’s only lighter, you’ll laugh, because spinach is lighter today,” said James.
The organization distributes food on the first and fourth Wednesdays of
