The Good Neighbor Fund kicks off its annual fundraiser today to provide financial support for those in need during this holiday season and the year ahead.

Hosted by Helping Hands Hawaii in collaberation with the Honolulu Star-Advertiser and First Hawaiian Bank, the fundraiser collects donations to help community members cover critical expenses like rent, utility bills and food. The donations also make providing items like school supplies, clothing and furniture possible through Helping Hands’ Community Clearinghouse.

Helping Hands Hawaii works with other social service providers to select recipients, alongside community outreach and a “contact” option on its website helpinghandshawaii.org where people can apply.
