Everything you need to know the yellow wind warning
Winds of up to 88mph are set to hit parts of the UK, with the Met Office issuing a 19-hour yellow weather warning for severe gales across northern and western Scotland from 4pm on Thursday (November 27) to 11am on Friday.
The strongest gusts are expected in the Highlands and the Outer Hebrides, where exposed coastal areas such as Castlebay on Barra could see wind speeds nearing 90mph overnight.
Most of northern and western Scotland is forecast to experience 60-75mphwinds, with widespread 50-60mph gusts also expected, alongside heavy rain.
The Met Office warns of possible power cuts, large coastal waves and transport disruption, with delays likely on roads and some bus services affected. People in the warning area are urged
