CrossCountry has announced a number of train cancellations and service changes due to planned industrial action by the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT). All services will be disrupted and eight will be completely cancelled on December 6.
It comes as RMT union members in customer service roles will be striking four times throughout December, CrossCountry has confirmed. The train operator says it is very "disappointed" by the decision, especially as it will be taking place during the busy Christmas period .
All CrossCountry routes will be impacted, with a limited service on some routes and no services on some parts of the network. Services will also finish much earlier than usual and are expected to be a lot busier than normal.
