Council for the Rural Municipality of Ritchot has given the go ahead for an adult living development in Ile des Chenes.

Developer Ken Tallaire appeared before Council with a proposal that could ultimately see 316 units go up at the north end of the community. The site is east of Main Street and south of Provincial Road 405.

Tallaire says this will be a mix of apartments and bungalow-style housing with attached garages. He notes they have similar developments in La Broquerie, as well as Ste. Anne and Beausejour. Tallaire says they are looking to build the Ile des Chenes development over four phases. It will include a recreation centre, a dog park, pickleball court, walking trails around a pond, as well as gazebos.
