(NewsNation) — With Thanksgiving being celebrated this week, it means one thing — food and a lot of it.
According to LuckyFarmers.com, on average, 46 million turkeys are consumed on Thanksgiving. Americans will consume 80 million pounds of cranberries on the holiday; 214 million pounds of potatoes, and 50 million pounds of sweet potatoes will be eaten, while 483,000 pounds of pumpkin, 77 million pounds of ham, and 40.5 million rolls will all be purchased.
So based on those numbers, how many average calories are being eaten at the dinner table?
Many Americans eat around 3,150 calories at a feast, according to the Calorie Control Council. Let's break some of it down:
