FARGO — The 100-plus players on North Dakota State’s football roster weren’t the only ones who were most likely curious about other programs making a run at head coach Tim Polasek. The Bison have 27 verbal commitments ready to sign on the dotted line for next week’s early signing period.

Polasek agreed to a seven-year contract extension earlier this week and said he shut down any other school who could call his agent. If the other scenario happened, that Polasek accepted another job, that could have influxed some drama in NDSU’s early signing period, which is Dec. 3-5.

“This class seems really solidified,” Polasek said. “I got some good text messages like, coach, this is awesome news.”
