Call the Midwife fans could be in for a shock with multiple deaths in the upcoming Christmas specials. The show is due to return for two festive episodes very soon, with some characters heading overseas to Hong Kong.

However, new plot details have revealed that disaster strikes immediately as Fred and Violet arrive in the city only to find that the Branch House in Kowloon has collapsed with "many fatalities".
