A duo allegedly caught having sex in a church's porch in broad daylight as schoolchildren walked by have been released by police.

The lewd act happened at 3.30pm last Thursday in the grounds of St Peter's Church in Church Road, Brandon , when a man and a woman were seen fornicating in the holy place's porch.

Children passing through the churchyard with their parents on their way home from school were left horrified.

A 45-year-old woman was arrested later that day in the town on suspicion of gross indecency and common assault, in relation to threats made towards a member of the public.

A 58-year-old man was also arrested in the town on suspicion of exposure and voyeurism.
