EDWARDSBURG, Mich. -- At roughly 3:07 a.m. Thursday, the Edwardsburg Fire Department responded to a mobile home on fire near Painter Lake with a person still inside.

When the firefighters arrived, they found the mobile home fully engulfed in flames. The firefighters were able to get the fire under control and search the home, finding the body of the home's single occupant.

Crews remained at the scene to assist in investigating the fire, with the area clearing around 6 a.m.

The victim's identity is currently withheld, pending notification of the family. Share
