All the talk of Harvey Barnes for the Scotland squad should be thrown firmly in the bin. ‌

The bottom line is that if Harvey wanted to play for Steve Clarke ’s side then he would have done it by now. He has had the opportunity! ‌

For whatever reason, it is something that hasn’t floated his boat. ‌

It was through his grandparents that he was eligible but maybe he doesn’t feel Scottish in the slightest! Or doesn’t want to play for anybody other than England.

Maybe he feels he can still achieve that English dream and add to the one cap he has! If any of those suggestions are right then you have to respect his stance and his position.

He was asked about it at the weekend, after he had scored a brace for Newcastle United against Manchester United .
