Eight off-piste skiers were left buried after a “substantial” avalanche occurred on the Stubai Glacier in Austria’s Tyrol region on the morning of Thursday, Nov. 27.
Per the Austrian newspaper, Der Standard , the incident occurred in an off-piste area near the Daunsharte pass at around 9 a.m. local time.
The outlet notes that six skiers were rescued quickly by emergency services in the immediate vicinity, while two others were pulled out alive soon after, with ORF Tirol confirming
