A Calgary woman who was hit by a vehicle in the city’s southwest last week has died as a result of her injuries, police say.
The incident happened at 9:15 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21 in the community of Southwood.
Investigators say a 2014 Hyundai Elantra, driven by a 30-year-old woman, was driving south on Macleod Trail SE near the intersection of 99 Avenue SW.
At the same time, a woman in her 30s was crossing Macleod Trail westbound south of the 99 Avenue SW intersection, outside the marked crosswalk.
The vehicle drove into the intersection on a green light and hit the pedestrian.
She was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police say she succumbed to her injuries on Wednesday.
The driver and her 60-year-old passenger weren’t hurt and stayed at the scene.
