17 people have been arrested across Merseyside as part of a coordinated police operation targeting suspects linked to domestic abuse offences. Merseyside Police confirmed that 12 men and five women were detained today (Thursday, November 27) in Liverpool, Wirral , Sefton , St Helens and Knowsley . The arrests relate to alleged offences including stalking, threats to kill, harassment, assault, and sexual assault.
Teams of local officers, led by the force’s Protecting Vulnerable People unit, carried out the arrests under Operation Cassia - an ongoing initiative aimed at locating individuals suspected of involvement in both recent and historic domestic abuse cases.
