EASTHAMPTON – “Thank you coach, thank you coach, thank you coach!” That was the sound of what rang out of the Easthampton huddle following its 34-18 victory over Northampton on Thanksgiving Thursday morning.
Usually, a team will have a cheer that they chant throughout the season before and after every game whether it’s “family on three” or “*insert team name here* on three”, but Thursday was a bit different. Not only was it Eagles head coach Kyle Dragon’s last game on Thanksgiving coaching Easthampton football, but it was also his last time coaching Eagles football period.
As if the day wasn’t emotional enough, the game ended with 3:02 left in the fourth quarter due to multiple physical altercations following the game’s clinching touchdown run by quarterback Colin Hogan.
