Five sections of Greater Manchester motorway will be closed this weekend (November 28-30).

Manchester is expected to be extremely busy this weekend with sold-out shows at Co-op Live and the AO Arena, alongside Manchester City’s home game against Leeds United on Saturday afternoon.

But the number of people attending those events will pale in comparison to those coming to the city for the Christmas Markets and shoppers seeking a Black Friday deal. Last weekend, when there was no major football match on, Transport for Greater Manchester said 1.2m journeys were made in and around the city centre.
