Chris Packham has called upon MPs to "listen to the science" regarding climate change whilst cautioning against a "dangerous wave of misinformation".

The television presenter and wildlife expert was present at an "emergency climate change summit" on Thursday, where MPs, peers, business leaders and celebrities received briefings from specialists about how Britain remained ill-prepared for escalating temperatures.

Speaking at the opening of the briefing, Mr Packham, 64, challenged why advancement on the matter had been sluggish.

"Why are we unbelievably pulling back on rapidly and forthrightly addressing the greatest crisis to ever threaten our species, climate breakdown, and biodiversity loss?" he said.
