CLEVELAND, Ohio — Heavy lake-effect snow is expected to continue across Northeast Ohio through tonight, with forecasters warning of hazardous travel and rapidly changing conditions as snow bands intensify.
The National Weather Service said Thursday that an additional 6 to 12 inches of snow is possible in the Lake Effect Snow Warning areas through late Friday, with 3 to 7 inches expected in the northern zones under a Winter Weather Advisory. Snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour remain possible within the strongest bands.
The warning area extends across Cuyahoga, Lake, Geauga and Ashtabula counties, as well as parts of northwest Pennsylvania. Advisory areas include sections of Summit, Portage, Trumbull and Mahoning counties.
