WOBURN — Winchester is partying like it’s 1990.
The Red and Black fought through injuries and cold weather to secure a 28-14 Thanksgiving Day victory over Woburn that helped them capture their first outright Middlesex Liberty title since 1990.
“These kids are awesome,” Winchester head coach Wally Dembowski said. “The last two years we were one game short of winning it so this year we wanted to get it done. They worked their tails off to get to this point, I am super proud of them.”
Winchester (11-1) entered the matchup without the services of star running back Gianni DePrimeo and Harvard-bound linebacker Bryan Harrison due to injuries suffered in the team’s Div. 2 semifinal loss to Catholic Memorial.
