A driver was killed late Wednesday in a single-vehicle crash on Route 208 near Route 4 in Bergen County.
The crash occurred about 10:18 p.m. on the southbound side of the highway in the area of Saddle River Road in Fair Lawn, authorities said.
The vehicle overturned and the driver sustained serious injuries. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:55 p.m., according to Jeff Angermeyer, spokesman for the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.
The driver was alone in the vehicle, Angermeyer said. The victim’s name was withheld pending notification of relatives.
The Paramus Police Department, Bergen County Sheriff’s Office, Fair Lawn Fire Department, and the Fair Lawn Rescue Squad all responded.
The prosecutor’s office and Fair Lawn police are investigating the cause of the crash.
