MADISON (WKOW) — Volunteers helped to ensure older adults across Madison had a warm meal to enjoy Thursday on Thanksgiving.

NewBridge Madison teamed up with Door Creek Church and Melly Mell's Soul Food to serve more than 300 seniors. The goal is to bring comfort to older adults who may be homebound or struggling with food insecurity.

One volunteer, Janet Hagen, has dedicated her Thanksgiving mornings to this cause for the past decade.

"It warms my heart to see people happy and get a meal," Hagen said. When asked why she continues to volunteer, Hagen explained her motivation.
