LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Communities across Mid-Michigan stepped up to make sure everyone had a good meal and someone to share it with this Thanksgiving.

At Catholic Charities of Ingham, Eaton, and Clinton Counties in Lansing, volunteers gathered to serve hundreds of people at their annual community Thanksgiving dinner.

“For [people] to be able to come here and have the traditional Thanksgiving meal, with the turkey and the dressing and mashed potatoes and gravy, that’s just that extra special part of the holiday,” said Yvonne Sampson, chief operating officer of Catholic Charities of Ingham, Eaton, and Clinton Counties.

Sampson said these dinners serve as a reminder of what the day is all about: togetherness.
