DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (WPTA) - Two people were hurt in a crash in DeKalb County on Saturday.

According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, officers were dispatched to the 6600 block of State Road 1 around 3:30 p.m.

A preliminary investigation indicates a Kia SUV was on northbound State Road 1 and a Ford SUV was on southbound State Road 1, when the Kia SUV lost control due to snowy road conditions, crossed the center median, and struck the Ford SUV head-on.

The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office says both vehicles suffered heavy front-end damage, and the driver and a front-seat passenger in the Ford SUV were taken to a local hospital for injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
