R&B singer Ray J was arrested early Thanksgiving morning following an alleged domestic dispute that reportedly involved threats and a firearm. The 44-year-old artist, whose real name is Willie Norwood, was taken into custody by the Los Angeles Police Department around 4 a.m. on suspicion of making criminal threats. According to police, a 911 call reported a possible custody dispute involving Ray J, who was said to be armed. Officers from the LAPD's Devonshire Division responded to the call at a residence in Porter Ranch. Upon arrival, they found Ray J livestreaming on Instagram, expressing distress over what he described as "the worst Thanksgiving in the f------ world." During the livestream, Ray J allegedly reached for a handgun and made statements that were interpreted as violent threats. Reports indicate that his estranged wife, Princess Love, entered the scene holding one of their children and accused him of pointing the gun at her and their daughter. The situation escalated further when another man confronted Ray J, leading to additional threats, including claims that he would shoot the man. Audio from the livestream captured the sound of police sirens approaching as officers arrived at the scene. Ray J was booked at LAPD's Van Nuys Station and later released on a $50,000 bond. He is known for hit songs such as "One Wish" and "Sexy Can I." Ray J and Princess Love, who married in August 2016, have filed for divorce multiple times since then. A divorce petition was filed in February 2024, and the couple shares two children: Melody Love Norwood, 7, and Epik Ray Norwood, 5. The couple's tumultuous relationship has been documented on the reality show "Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood." As of now, no further details about the incident have been released by the police, and attempts to reach Ray J's representatives for comment have not been successful.
