HALIFAX - A man from Chapel Island, Nova Scotia, has been arrested and charged with several counts of child sexual abuse and exploitation. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) responded to a report regarding a man trying to enter a residence to see a youth inside.
The investigation revealed that the 21-year-old suspect, Ethan Arnold Battiste, had initiated an online relationship with the youth in September. Following the report, police arrested Battiste at his home and seized an electronic device as part of their investigation.
Battiste faces multiple charges, including three counts of sexual assault and charges related to the creation of child sexual abuse and exploitation material. The RCMP has indicated that there may be additional victims due to the online nature of the offenses. They are urging anyone with further information to come forward.
