PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A teen is hurt after a shooting at a Mesa apartment on Sunday.

Details are extremely limited.

Mesa police said that they responded to an apartment complex near Main Street and Gilbert Road around 3 p.m. for reports of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a 16-year-old who had been shot. It is unclear the extent of their injuries.

Police say the scene is very active and are asking the public to avoid the area. Officers say they believe the suspects fled in a car.
