NJ.com No. 5-ranked Winslow repeated as state champions with a 34-21 win over No. 8 Ramapo in the NJSIAA/Xfinity Group 4 championship on Sunday at Rutgers.

It was a game that saw six lead changes between two of the state’s most explosive offenses. We additionally saw state passing history from Winslow junior quarterback Jalen Parker.

There were also some highlights on defense and special teams.

Liam Hayward, Ramapo, Sr., RB/LB

Hayward carried 36 times for 146 yards and two touchdowns and reeled in three passes for five yards. On defense, he registered a season-high five tackles and two pass breakups. The rushing effort was Hayward’s biggest workload of the year and it put him over 1,000 yards for the season with 1,048 to go with 18 total touchdowns.
