WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Just in time for the holiday snowfall, Candy Cane Lane is lighting up West Allis!

The festive holiday light display kicked off Friday night, Nov. 28.

About 300 homes took part, raising money for childhood cancer research.

This year, North Shore Bank helped kick off opening night by collecting donations for the MACC Fund and handing out special ornaments to the first 40 cars.

Candy Cane Lane is hoping to reach a fundraising milestone this holiday season.

"We are in the 40th year of candy cane lane this year. We are hoping we are able to get the four-million-dollar mark raised over those 40 years this year," said event coordinator Alli Neumann. "We're about $137,000 shy and in the past five years we have raised more than that every year."
