Rep. Troy Nehls announced he will retire from Congress at the end of his term after next year’s election.

The Trump-backed congressman is endorsing his twin brother, Trever, to succeed him in the heavily Republican 22nd District southwest of Houston.

Nehls entered Congress in 2021 after three decades in law enforcement and Army service.
