SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Court records reveal a bench trial is set to begin for a Chatham County man on Monday, December 1st.
36-year-old Victor Michael Alexander is accused of stabbing his mother, Doris, to death in 2018.
This case has seen many delays over its nearly 7-year history, many of them due to competency reviews for the defendant.
Our coverage of the case began on New Year’s Day in 2019, when Victor Alexander allegedly barricaded himself inside a home on Wisteria Court.
That standoff with Savannah SWAT lasted 5 hours and followed a welfare check. Police say this was after they found a body while walking the perimeter of a property there.
