One year ago, there was a decent argument that LeBron James and Anthony Davis were the best duo in the NBA. Those conversations came with the caveat that both players be at full health and up to the challenge, but at their best, that pairing felt unstoppable on both ends of the floor.
Fast forward to the present day and Austin Reaves and Luka Dončić are inarguably one of the league’s best duos. For the second-straight game on Sunday, the pair each scored 30 points to lead LA to a victory. No starting backcourt is scoring at the clip Reaves and Luka are so far this season and no pair in league history has done so.
Will they carry on at that rate throughout the whole season? Probably not. Did we even expect this a year ago? Two months ago? Also no.
