An entrepreneur wants to put 5.5 tiny houses on almost an acre of land in south Augusta.
Sadé Kong, on behalf of Prestige Wealth Management, is asking city officials for a rezoning and a special exemption for her proposed project at 1412 Hephzibah-McBean Road.
Kong is proposing five one- and two-story houses, each between 200 and 400 square feet in area. A sixth structure described in filed documents as a "one-half tiny home" will be used for an office.
Kong proposed a ground lease of between three and six months and "affordable rent," which she said is "for families that fall into tough times to help them with shelter," according to her proposal.
