Jeremy Corbyn ’s new left-wing movement, Your Party, has rejected him as leader, opting instead for a collective leadership model.
During a tense inaugural conference in Liverpool members voted against having a single elected leader, voting for the party to be led by "ordinary members" not MPs .
Mr Corbyn previously said he backed the "sole leader" model and would stand for the position.
The decision of a joint leadership model sided with Mr Corbyn’s rival, Zarah Sultana , who boycotted the conference's first day amid a row over expulsions.
The former Labour MP said she had “fought for maximum member democracy since day one” and described the decision as “exciting”.
