A Hampden Township police report could hold the key to freedom for a man convicted of double murder who has spent 41 years behind bars. But the report has been buried for the past 45 years.
The police report, currently the subject of a Right-to-Know legal battle that has reached Commonwealth Court, could bolster Ronald Sperry Jr.’s alibi.
His sister, Natalie Sperry-Mauger, has spent much of this year fighting for the report’s release but has hit roadblocks at every turn — from Hampden Township all the way up to Cumberland County Court.
“If I can get that police report, right there, it proves his innocence,” she told PennLive.” That’s why they won’t release it.”
