A Strictly Come Dancing celebrity has been overwhelmed with backing after sharing an emotional message about departing the programme.

Sunday evening saw Alex Kingston become the eighth famous face axed from Strictly alongside her professional partner Johannes Radebe.

The pair ended up in the dreaded dance-off against EastEnders star Balvinder Sopal and pro Julian Caillon, forced to repeat their Saturday night routines.

After both performances, the judging panel made their decision, with Anton Du Beke opting to rescue Alex and Johannes whilst Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse backed Balvinder and Julian.
