More misery as Birmingham bin strike escalates with new announcement

Birmingham's bin collection service was suspended city-wide today, Monday, December 1, after agency workers, hired to cover the long-running strike, joined the picket line alongside directly-employed staff.

The agency workers cite allegations of bullying, harassment, and workplace blacklisting as their reason for striking. The city council apologised and halted collections for the day, confirming collections would resume tomorrow, aiming to clear any backlog by Sunday.
